The Catalyst Club is a private women’s club that has been meeting monthly in the city of Melbourne for over 100 years. The format of each meeting has remained the same throughout this time. The Catalysts share each other’s company, a meal and a paper is presented by a member followed by a discussion expanding on the ideas presented. The members of this group have been some of Australia’s most exceptional women. This piece is a celebration of the Catalyst Club introducing the audience to some of the members from the past 100 years, their achievements, stories, anecdotes and how they have helped shape Melbourne. The piece will follow the format of an actual meeting. The audience enjoy a meal, good company and share in ideas that have been explored and gone on to change and shape Melbourne.
