A Criminal Barrister provides a hypothetical account of a criminal trial involving an accused murderer, focusing on the theatrical aspects of criminal law. The Barrister explains the many strategies used by barristers (and prosecuting lawyers) to make their clients appear sympathetic; focusing on the psychological and theatrical aspects of mounting a defense, looking at community prejudices, psychological insights and observations that might be used to persuade a jury that the evidence against their client is insubstantial.
